I fell in love with Val the first time I saw her, those lovely brown eyes sparkled as she smiled and her voice charmed and memorised me with a serenity that was wonderful. I knew the feelings were mutual that day back in Aylesford at a meeting in the Village Hall some thirty years ago, we crossed the room and hugged each other and that was the moment I think we knew we were meant to be together.
